《土壤与环境微生物学》课程全英文教学理念践行①

【摘要】以"土壤与环境微生物学"课程教学为例,对硕士研究生专业课程全英文授课模式进行了探讨.提出全英文教学,而不是双语教学,能弱化学生对语言的注意力,转而注重专业课知识的理解,较后者更有利于提高学生英语水平.同时辅以特殊教学方法,如利用连续数次上课课时,在每次上课完成专业理论的授课内容后,就一个专业问题由浅入深地启发学生用英语进行讨论.在给学生练习英语口语机会的同时,还逐渐梳理了专业研究方法;辅之以频繁用英语进行的考核和作业(以周为单位),增加了学生的学习任务,促进了研究生英文学术论文写作能力的提升,还潜移默化地使学生自然接受英语语言为其日常学习生活的常用语言之一.

【英文摘要】Based on Chinese postgraduate student’s English level ,the Soil and Environmental Microbiology course has been taken as an example in this paper to study the proper pattern of teaching postgraduate student’s professional courses in English .It is proposed that all_English teaching ,instead of bilingual one , could switch students’ focus from language to knowledge ,which eventually improves their English even more than the latter .Combing with a special means ,that after the theory teaching part of every teaching among continuous several teachings of the course ,the students were asked to discuss on an unsolved pro_fessional issue in the related field gradually until finishing a design of methodology of resolution ,not only students oral English got trained ,but also their profession thinking in English has been improved .During the all_English teaching ,quizzes and assignments happen on weekly basis in order to give students study load ,as well as gradually form the concept that English is just one of their study languages .
